Weekly roundup (fri-sun)

Aug 3th 2007 - Friday

Actually spent the evening with wq first. Went to JEC for some pool (i played very horribly, but managed to get 2 very difficult angle shots in, resulting in a 2-2 draw), and then went to the library to meet wq's cosplay friends for dinner.

Actually it was him who's meeting them for dinner, i was just tagging along cause i'm waiting for Noel to come, and go to IMM together to get my phone.

Well we did just that, and i got my K810I. Its actually a modified version of the K800i, which i liked alot. Since this one promises more power and talking time, why not?

It was supposed to cost $500 after signing a 2 year plan(wth, why is it so exp? I thought the price has already dropped?), but in the end i was able to get a $100 discount off as the sales staff so kindly got a promotional voucher for us, Noel's bills for the last few months was around $70+, so yeap.

I guess i have Daphne to thank. Haha.

Well, he did sign up for the corporate plan, got a new 3G sim card, and also a new screen protector courtesy of yours truly, so i guess its a win-win situation again.

Had dinner at fish&c0, then drinks at MOS where we caught up a bit before leaving for home.

Took the info out of my old phone, into my new one. That took a few hours, cause i had a lot of saved messages in my old phone. Not to mention the transferring of contacts. Phew, that took forever =/

Slept at 3+.

Aug 4 2007 - Sat

Messing around with my computer abit, before i received a sudden phone call from Jason, asking me to meet him to collect my stuff.

Met him at JEC macs, where we had some green tea. He passed me my memory card, a new battery, and also upgraded my PSP. Thanks! Now i can play all the new games i've downloaded! woohoo~

Incidentally he also bought me a keychain like kind of thing from China. I have no idea what to do with it, so i just put it in my bag.

He told me about his plans for his company, which opens on the 15th of Aug, and i told him i'll be going to his house tomorrow to play some Wii.

Then went home and fiddled with my PSP a bit before changing and leaving for Hougang.

The trip to Hougang took 1hr15minutes, and Thankfully i had my new game to accompany me, namely Riveria: The promised land.very addictive and cute game.

Tonight was the first night i stepped in Hougang, i never had a reason to come so far before. Walked around the taxi stand until David's car arrived, in which seated Swee Bee, Lilian, Wanling and David of course.

Drove for a bit before we reached the basketball court, and it turns out the event was like the dinner you have at the basketball courts every 7th month. Yeap, those aunction kind of dinner.

It was pretty interesting, cause i chatted up with David and learnt a bit about why he joined, and saw how Kenneth, clara and her beau together with the rest chatted and bantered with us other. Think they were really having a lot of fun.

Mr Low came a bit later because he had to attend another similar event, and the lion dance was there to welcome him to the 'party'.

Don't want to talk too much about this, but lets just say it was an eye-opener for me. I had an extended talk with him when Mrs Low drove me to AMK station. Managed to take the last train before it was too late.

Reached home at 1+, and didn't feel like blogging, so i just psped away til close to 3 before i slept.

Aug 5 2007 - Sunday

I know i was supposed to go to Jason's house, but because i agreed to meet Kelvin at 4:15 in Queensway, and considering i woke up at 12:30, i just didn't feel like going over.

So i had some breakfast, read a bit, before dozing for an hour to wake up at 3(i was that tired). I suggested we meet at West Mall instead, since its nearer and i recall a spectacle shop which was relatively cheap the last time i went.

He came at around 4:30+, while i reached at 4. But its fine because i was playing all along. Reached the shop, did some testing and once again my eyesight has deteriorated further, 50deg for the left and 25for the right. That sums up to 425 on the left and 375 on the right. I think i need to go for Lasik.

The specs costed a grand sum of $288, and will be available for collection on the 9th of August. Wah, i think i should really go buy 4d or something. Such a wonderful number eh?

The guy attending to me didn't give me a discount at all, despite asking several times. Grr, i felt it was a bit expensive, but what the heck, i was too lazy to move to another shop anyways, so .. *shrugs*.

It was only when we were taking the cab over to Singapore Indoor Stadium that we realized it would be much cheaper to get the specs done in JB! I keep forgetting about that. Now i know why i felt cheated =/

Met up with Kelvin's friends Helen and Samantha, and Helen's friends Theresa and Michelle. Helen sat on my left, Kelvin on my right. Okay, Helen's pretty friendly and has a nice laugh, 21st birthday just passed so pretty young. What else can/should i say? haha. Theresa and Michelle are xmm's. i think they're out of my range though.

Anyways, i'm here at the Festival of Praise, which is a praise & worship session which has been conducted for the last 21 years. On the first weekend of August.

This year they invited Delirious? and i can't remember what's his name over, and i must say they're really good. Got me all pumped up together with the rest of the crowd.

Though i must say the opening minute when everyone linked hands and started praying(i think at least 90% spoke in tongues) would have been pretty scary for a non-christian.

Overall it was a very nice event, and i reached home at close to 12. Tiring night.. and i finally completed my blog entries~
