An ordinary man, an normal life, extraordinary thoughts?

Thursday

Main highlights of the day would be when someone almost fainted outside.

We got him a wheelchair, and took his temperature. It was at 38.4, took again later became 38.6, then up to 39 i believe. This is quite rare, cause we're in a naval base and we don't get exposed to the sun so much.

Well, his temperature was rising pretty quick, and we decided to bring him in to the resuscitation area. Doctor took a look at him, and then the 'operation' started.

It was quite messy, alot of people were moving all together, but basically we took his BP, temperature, Hypocount, etc. We had to use various ways to cool him down, we did tepid sponging, used gauze to cool down his body, then used the er, blue packs thingy to put on his groin, neck, armpits.

Then we IVed him and took some blood from him to be sent to the hospital later. We then put him in the BCU (body cooling unit) for a few minutes, took his parameters again, BCUed him again, then injected him with some glucose solution.

In case you're wondering, BCU works by spraying fine water(mists) on the target in the middle from the top and bottom of the machine. The fan is also turned on, and you'll think it works, because the guy was shivering when we just turned it on.

Eventually he got better though, and we sent him to the hospital.

Yeap. I believe things will get better from now on. (heh, totally unrelated right?)
