21st May 2007 (Monday) - Sis' graduation ceremony -
21st May 2007 (Monday)
Woke up at 7:15 despite it being an off day, and despite the fact that i don't want to wake up at all. Showered, dressed, waxed hair, wore watch, packed bag, and left with mom... to TP!
TP! The land of joy and peace!(Hah, i can say that now only because i'm no longer a student~). We took the train over, then bus no.69.
Things doesn't seem to have changed much. There were still so many students waiting for the bus, and the bus still came pretty late. Which means all those having lessons at 9am will be late, as usual.
We reached TCC at 915, amidst a flurry of activity. There were people everywhere, ushers, guests, graduates, everyone was walking around everywhere.
We walked into the LT 59 and 60.. (Didn't it just used to be called TCC?) and got seated in the above seats. The lower section was reserved for graduates. It so happened that they were showing a flim done by one of the students. About instead of just preaching love, one can and should show their love..
And 'face' is just crap. Its what inside that counts. Let them talk all they want!
There were the usual opening ceremonies after that. The speech by Boo Kheng Hua was unimpressive and boring (Boo!), while the speech given by the CEO of Keppel Land was inspiring and quite highly charged. His two words for the graduates was "Go International", somewhere in the middle he said "get your hands dirty", and i totally agree.
Hmm, then there were the presentation of all the graduates, which took more than an hour. Ah, what happened next was the presentation of 4 special students, together with their parents. These 4 achieved the Lew Kuan Yew Award (x2), some guy's award, and an all rounder award.
Basically they just stood on the stage while the Emcee just heaped praises on them. They just had to smile.
But really, i think they deserved it. Its really, really not easy to do what they did. Especially the ITE student who did so well to get a perfect 4 in ITE, and a 3.92 in TP.
Its amazing! Just reading their 'biography' sounds amazing. Truly.
There was a light reception outside TCC after that, and we had some food before i took some photos for sis. Actually managed to see auntie li kiau there, and i took a photo of mom & sis, li kiau and daughter. Among alot of other photos.
Truly, i've never seen so many poly students gather in a place looking so happy for a very long time... haha..!
After that, we went to SGH to visit grandmom. To cut things short, she had a heart attack and will be having an operation tomorrow... I managed to meet Edward up since he happened to be at the hospital, listening to his friend's lecture.
I took a walk around his ward, drank a bit at the cafetaria at the same floor, then we headed over to Tiong Bahru to watch 28 weeks later, and also caught dinner and walked around a bit.
The show was pretty good. I think the reason why everyone's saying it sucks is because they're expecting Resident Evil, or Dawn of the dead style. They're not catching the character & moral parts of the story.
Anyways, dinner was at Grillers? And i had pizza. It wasn't that bad as compared to The Pizza Place @ JP. Much better actually, even though its more expensive.
One thing to note, Tiong Bahru plaza was full of kids! Secondary school... lower sec.. kids everywhere!
Went home afterwards, had to finish the project, but i just couldn't start.. sigh. In the end i went down to find Rain. Found two other cats before i found Rain.. she's still as affectionate as ever.. but she seems to have changed her hiding spot. Probably because of one of them evil cats that's posessive.
This time i forgot to bring water down, so i asked bro to bring some down for me. I think Rain throughly enjoyed our attention.. hee~ She's so pretty!
Then came back, typed a few emails for dad, then tried to do a bit of the thing again. I'm counting on you edward, i'm bushed...
To a better tomorrow..~
