Seriously, i didn't even SEE Masi Oka. It was so crowded!
And people were screaming all over the place!

It was like .. F4 once again.
I actually saw Ali Larther cling on to her bodyguard, because the people were literally pushing themselves all around them.

This will be a trip they never forget. Haha.

HEROES fans were overwhelmed at seeing their idols in person during last week's Heroes World Tour in Singapore.

Good to know that actors Masi Oka, Ali Larter, Sendhil Ramamurthy and Greg Grunberg from the hit TV series felt exactly the same way about their diehard supporters.

The fab four were here last week on a four-day stopover to promote Heroes' second season, which premieres on Star World (StarHub Ch18) next January.

Singapore was the last leg of the Asian tour, which also covered Tokyo and Hong Kong.

To Masi and his superhero pals, it was the best of all by far - and they have announced it to the world via the Internet.

On the show's official NBC website, the descriptions tagged to the video clips of the Singapore leg read, 'Yes, it's true: There's (sic) no fans like Singapore fans' and 'Pure Heroes mayhem in Singapore'.

In the clips, the stars were so wowed by the local reception that they were gushing adjectives like 'special', 'unbelievable', 'insane' and 'kick ass'.

Ms Nini Yusof, Star's associate vice-president for distribution and marketing in south-east Asia, told The New Paper: 'They were amazed and extremely happy because they did not expect Singapore fans to have such a favourable reaction to the series.

'It was definitely not the same in Tokyo and Hong Kong.'

Being greeted by a roaring 200-strong audience at Changi Airport's Transit Mall last Thursday was nothing compared to Friday's fan event at VivoCity's Central Court, which was packed with 5,000 screaming fans.

Some held up cheeky placards for their favourite characters, like 'Marry Me Mohinder', 'Read my mind Matt' and 'Jessica Hit Me One More Time'.

Grunberg and Masi were reportedly so high on the crowd's energy they performed an impromptu beatboxing ode to Singapore onstage.

Ms Yusof said: 'The cast was totally blown away... They were treated like rock stars. I thought Singaporeans would only go crazy over Chinese pop stars, but people were pulling at Sendhil's shirt and schoolgirls were chasing their bus.'

According to her, fans from Malaysia and Indonesia also attended the event as the Singapore Tourism Board had promoted it in Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta as part of its Uniquely Singapore Weekends campaign.

On Friday night, Star hosted a gala trade dinner at Four Seasons Ballroom for its regional advertisers, media agencies, partners and affiliates which was attended by the Heroes too.

On Saturday morning, the quartet took photographs in front of the Merlion ('They asked where the water was coming out from') and the Esplanade ('They said it was a unique-looking building'), said Ms Yusof.

That same afternoon, Grunberg - whom Ms Yusof labelled the 'tour leader' and 'Energiser Bunny' of the group - returned to Los Angeles and Masi took a flight back to his birthplace Tokyo.

Larter and Sendhil went for an Indian dinner later that night, and flew back to Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon as scheduled.

According to Ms Yusof, Star spent a six-figure sum to bring the Heroes to our shores.

She said: 'We believe this series is worth the promo. Our main intention was to offer subscribers the opportunity to get up close to the stars, and it was a success.

'Singapore should be proud because if you look at the videos (on the Heroes website) and compare it with the rest of the world tour, we were the most happening place.'
