My take on the doughnut craze

Pictures courtesy of onedoggiegoodie.com and jupiterimages.com

Yes, you've seen them around, you've seen people queueing up for them in Citylink, in Raffles city, and hey, you can see queues for doughnuts for almost everywhere that sell doughnuts.

First, lets look at what doughnuts actually are. As quoted from Wikipedia "A doughnut, or donut, is a sweet, deep-fried piece of dough or batter. The two most common types are the torus-shaped ring doughnut and the filled doughnut, a flattened sphere injected with jam/jelly, cream, custard, or another sweet filling. A small spherical piece of dough, originally made from the middle of a ring doughnut, may be cooked as a doughnut hole."

What's it about really? Why are people suddenly so crazy about the sugary coated deeply fried dough with practically no nutritional values whatsoever? For the sugar rush? because it looks nice?

Is it just me, or have we all forgotton about the Bubble Tea and Breadtalk's Revolution?

I think give it a few more months, and when people start getting fatter like what they did during the Bubble Tea era, this thing may start to become a norm.

And perhaps there will also be less queues, and i'll be able to get MY doughnut, or not.

22 August 2007 - Wednesday -

I was just looking through my friendster list, and i was wondering..
Who are all these people? Are they really my friends?
I swear i've never seen some of them before, and others are married!

Some have changed so much it took me more than 15 photos before i finally recognized them. They should be models really. In fact, i'm sure they'll make great models.

This brings me to the issue of change. Whenever people look at me, the most they'll comment is that my cheeks have become chubbier. Either that, or even after 10 years of not seeing me, they say i haven't changed at all.

Maybe i Am living in the past. Or maybe all the changes to me are in my head.
Have i grown older compared to my poly years?

No doubt i've seen a lot more. Deaths, heartbreaks, rejections, weddings(2 coming up in Sept), friends come and go, troubles, new policies by the govt, politics both in and out of the office, going to various churches, meeting new people and so much more.

Yet all these only serves to make me feel older. I remember myself saying back then that instead of feeling 19, i feel 51.

Perhaps now i can say that instead of feeling 23, i feel 42. I just don't.. feel young.

Time and time again i keep trying to change, but it just doesn't seem to happen.

Some of my greatest dreams and hopes, still remain as dreams and hopes. To what extent have i grown nearer to them?

I get a little jealous when my friends tell me their plans for the future. How they're going to study, and then work or set up their own company.

Me? I don't even know what i want to study. Though i know that i must.

Perhaps i've always been too much of a 'anything will do' kind of person. I can ask for an apple, but if i get an orange, i'll just shrug and go for orange juice instead. After all, if I don't expect too much and something happens, at least i can be pleasantly surprised then being disappointed.

Only that somehow i feel like i've locked my heart up somewhere. Most of the time i'm so logical that i wonder where my emotions have fled to. And then my emotions will come out at a surge somewhere in the year, and i'll start feeling depressed, life is meaningless and everything.

Sometimes i wonder why i even bother.
Oh crap, time to stop before the emotions catch up.

Some thoughts i got from my old phone

These are some of the thoughts that i saved inside my old phone, and took some time to recover them and bring them to light.

I'll be putting them out on days when i got nothing to blog, sorta like today, so er, can tag me or sms me to let me know yr views k?

I'll start with these 3.

Why do we stop beliving in ourself? Why do we let facts and figures and anything but dreams rule our lives? Nothing is impossible.

Being unsure and indecisive may lead others to think you don't want something, and you may end up with nothing. Don't voice out in the last minute, though doing that may sometimes be bettter than being silent.

Being creative is to do things out of the textbook.
Go with your feelings and walk proud in a foreign unxplored land, or rather an unknown street.

comments please..~

Ramblings - Net theory -

I spent some time today thinking about this. But just a little time.

Lets apply this to say, relationships.

Suppose we cast our net wide. What we're looking for could be something very general and not very specific, something like age 17-27, either long or short hair (so long she has hair), doesn't have to be very tall or short. Doesn't have to be very pretty, just nice looking.

While these set of criteria probably encompasses at least 40% of all women in Singapore, is it possible that your net is too big? You end up catching nothing, because everything slips through.

After all, with the mentality of "There are so many trees in the forest, i'm bound to find someone better", you end up looking for the next one, and the next, and the next. Because you don't have anyone/thing specific in mind.

However, if you set your sights on someone, and decide that this is the person you want to chase/woo. One thing is your net becomes smaller, because this time its focused. All the effort you put in is for that one tree/fish(since we're using nets as an example..), and if its in your sights, its easier to catch, since you're ignoring all the other trees/fishes in your way.

Shouldn't that be the way relationships be? Instead of casting a wide net, i should focus on a single tree/fish. But that is the mentally i think we should have, after you cast a wide net and see the fish in your sight.

Okay, for those who's lost its fine, but for those who get it. Tag ya?

long rant

This is one of my self-analogy/reflections post.

All this may sound very random or crappy, or i may just sound like rambling, but hey, its my blog.

Today, as i was waiting for the bus to come back. I started thinking a bit, about why i am the way i am. Why i'm still single, why i'm so carefree, why why why.

And i came to the conclusion...

I never had a goal. There was never anything to look forward to. I didn't know What i want. Everything's either black or white, no in between.

Now, lets apply it to my love life. Without a goal, 'anyone' could be my gf. Since i didn't really know what i want, i wouldn't actively go for anyone. I don't think i even tried seriously the last few years, all because i don't know what i really want.
Everything's black and white. I either love someone a hell lot, or i don't.

I think that's the way my mind has been thinking for some time now. And i Know, that this isn't working. I don't even have to put it against my love life, against studies... or anything.

And i realise i give up too easily.. couple that with low self esteem, and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

This cannot go on....... it really can't. I'm actually a very simple person... i just want to hold someone i love, and grow old with her, caring less about other stuff.

But that's not going to happen of course. That's never going to happen.

One thing is life in SG is getting increasingly and ridiculously harder to live. GST just got upped, and they give us a pittance of the money we'll be spending more on everyday. Just spent 2 years of my life in a black hole... other than learning some general knowledge, what have i achieved?

Oooh and listen, our MM says that we're at a golden time! Wow! Ministers' salaries got raised to more than 100k a month, GST increased, we're attracting more foreign talent... hey, isn't that cause for joy?

Probably in 2010 GST will be raised to 10%, no wait, probably 2012 after PAP wins another election cause everyone is just too scared to vote for the opposition. What people don't realise is that a 2% GST hike is not $2 for every $100 spent. This affects the whole 'supply chain'.

Some suppliers at the top have been absorbing the GST hike, but with this 2% added in i don't think they can absorb that much lar. So lets assume they used to pay $100 for this batch of .. 1000 erasers, and selling us for 50cents a piece. Now with the hike they're paying $100 for 800 erasers, and they can't sell us at $50cents now can they? They'll raise it to at least 70 or 80cents.

And this is just for the basic necessities.. Hasn't anyone realised that a chocolate bar used to cost $1, but now costs up to $1.60?

cause of the 7% gst? Or what? you decide..

Starhub has raised prices, transport hikes are becoming the norm, and hey, they're declaring millions of profits. Its not like they're making a loss lor. Wah liew eh.

Sooooo.. lets put it this way. We're at a Golden age... Our pay isn't increasing because we need to stay competitive, but everything else is rising... Supposedly i go study for uni, currently i'm already paying $90 for my insurance, and $100 for the CPF loan i took from my dad for my poly.

I'm earning 1.5k a month at the moment. No i'm sorry, 1.2k .. forgot about the stupid CPF. So $200 already gone. left maybe 1k. Food & Transport gotta cost at least $100. I get 900.

Suppose i go study for uni. Its going to cost at least 16k. I need to work for what, 2 years before i can go study for 2 years? Wow. That's not going to happen ... that's why everyone's half studying, half working.

And wow, think about it.. after we graduate we're going to want better jobs, so we work hard and slog and slog... but don't forget! There's reservist! So in that month you're gone, some of Singapore's prized assets the Foreign Talent may just take over your job! You're constantly working at 11 months, while others get 12. Not to mention the 2 years of a 'headstart' again *cough*.

So by the time i finish my studies, i'll be 26. And either struggling to pay off debts, or trying to distinguish myself in my new career. Supposedly i get a gf now and get married at the age of 28... i need to get a HDB flat for myself..

Nope, i'm not talking about cars here, just a HDB flat... and the govt expects us to have kids?

Oei. You're kidding me lar. How to have kids when we cannot even tahan to live happily? I'm not talking about a car leh, just downpayment for HDB, then tv, then chairs, sofas, etc.

Congrats to the Govt for making us So kiasu. And people wonder WHY we're so kiasu.
I think i can understand now.

You know, barring any unforeseen circumstances, i'm seriously thinking of migrating. Just by myself. I'll just leave everything behind, cause i don't think my friends can... not many of them anyways.

Okay, this turned out to be a rant... but yea, Icy jie got me thinking, and i just wanted to type it all out. Thanks for the food for thought...

I gotta do some planning.

isn't it strange

Isn't it strange how sometimes we look at ourselves in the mirror, and start thinking 'Hey, i'm pretty good looking', only to look at yourself in the same mirror a few hours later thinking 'eh, what happened to me? i need to lose weight'.

Kinda makes you wonder whether its the lighting, the mood or morale at that time, or is it something else.

Please comment guys~

Decisions Decisions

As my journey through life goes on, there are many times in which we are forced to act. Forced to choose an option over the other. From lighter thing like 'whether i should go for this bbq instead of that dinner', to 'i don't feel too good, should i see a doctor?'

ALl these events have no doubt surfaced in the past, but things seem more serious now, considering we do have to claim responsibility for each action that we take.

Sometimes the right option turns out wrong, and the wrong, right. Yet one must never forget, once you have chosen, no matter how attractive and nice the other might have been, forget it, you have already chosen. Its like 'The grass is greener on the other side'.

Don't regret. Regrets are for those who have too much time to think on the wrong things.

Beh. This is just a random thought.

What i did 1 week after my ORD, before i started working

Its been a long time.

Yeap, i know its been ages since i last blogged, and i won't give any excuses.
True, i've been really busy, really tired, and quite confused/angry at one point of time, but now i'll just blog what i can.

During the last 3 weeks, i've been to geylang twice(i've never really walked there before, so its quite an eye-opener), went out with Cow, Fai, Shiyu, Edward, Michael, Noel(?), the guys from TMC, guys from BMT(both section 1 and 2), Jason, Alex, and so many more.

I've also eaten at seoul garden, bowled, played pool, went ktv, eaten at japanese restaurant, watched (Men in white, Shrek 3, Ocean's 13, Fantastic 4, is there anything else?), went for BBQ, lan gaming, gamed at home, went to the airport, bought formal clothes, and also ORDed.

Ah yes, on my ORD day, the 8th of June, i also went for an interview, the second interview was on the follow thursday, and that's the day i got the job. Though i was initially very very disappointed to hear that i'll be getting only 1.5k a month(1.2k bring back), i guess i've gotton over it.

Yeap, i've been to many places, done many things, and i guess my fun meter is almost filled up, and that's good, because i start work on Monday, the 18th. 10 days after i officially ORD.

I've been thinking alot after i ORD, some when i've heard my buddy from BMT intending to propose to his gf in a few months time, some when i hear some of my friends earning much more than 1.5k a month, some when i keep seeing my friends driving their cars around, and some, when i went to Keat's house for a BBQ, and i saw pictures of my friend in Japan, when he went on ORD day.

Talking about the disappointment and anger part, that was on the second interview, when i realised i was receiving just 1.5k a month. I have friends, who are getting at least 1.6k, and i seriously thought i'll be getting just as much. I even thought they would count NS as part of it, and give me at least a bit more than my female classmates then. But no, that wasn't the case.

It seems that in these 2 years, they don't count as work experience at all. I guess i finally understand why they consider NS a complete waste of time.

In this society, the guys are supposed to outshine the girls. Even though we preach equality now, the guys are still supposed to earn much more than the other sex, and are also expected to drive cars, own credit cards, and others. Since we start out 2 years later than them, how are we supposed to do that?

I guess we could always go for younger girls, but in Singapore, when the FT(Foreign Talent) can skip things like NS, reservice, Remedial Training, the Singaporean guys are really losing out man.

This is the first time i've seriously considered emigrating. To Hongkong. Hah~ But that's just a thought for now.

The pictures from Japan looked really nice, made me wish i can go visit, but at 1.2k take home pay, 100 for my poly course loaned from Dad's CPF(for the next 5 years at least), 70 for my insurance(for the next 20+ years), and the 1k loan i still owe, i'm really just taking home less than 1k a month, that's if i don't spend anything on entertainment, and bills.

Wow. And i do want to visit Fai in Hongkong/China by next year. Not to mention thoughts of taking a license, my root canal treatment...

Somehow life may have been much easier, had i stayed on in NS. So many things to spend on, yet so little money huh? I need new specs, a new phone...

Looks like going over may take some time yet.

Ah yet, one should always be optimistic! Come on world, i'm ready!

When does a person truly die?

The moment his body lands on the floor from a 10-storey jump?
The moment his heart gets pierced by a dagger?
The moment the girl said "Lets be friends?"

Or

The moment his heart stops beating?

Nope. Its none of the above.

The only time a person truly dies, is when he has been forgotton. His goals, wishes, achivements, and what he is, forgotton.

Only then will he be wiped off from the face of the earth..~

An interesting Article

Why he has stopped being chivalrous

IT IS no secret that much has been said about Singapore men lacking in chivalry. It is also no secret as to which gender the accusers belong.

I agree that some men are indeed lacking in chivalry. To a certain extent, this would include yours truly.

I am 37 years of age and was, in my earlier years, full of this so-called 'chivalry'. I had believed very strongly in this quality and had no bias regarding the age, race, nationality and gender of those shown this 'chivalry'.

Sadly, that was in the past.

This quality in me has 'died'. After years of giving up my seats to those in need (mostly the old and pregnant women); holding doors open for folks passing through after me (mostly women); helping to retrieve articles for people who had dropped them (again, mostly women), I regret to say that only a handful of these people whom I had shown such basic courtesy had smiled and said 'Thank you!' (mostly men).

Most of the women simply walked away either as if nothing had happened or with a facial expression that seemed to imply I had done or said something rude to them.

All I had done was something most would describe as either chivalrous or courteous.

Well, I certainly know why I hesitate to be chivalrous to the 'fairer sex' these days.

Alex Tan Li Er

--------------------

I totally agree. Some of my friends expect all this from us, and more, without even getting a thank you in reply. I've been doing it for years. I don't know if they have taken me for granted or not, but at a recent birthday gathering some of the girls said, "Hai, they're not gentlemen at all, ask them to take something for us also don't want/lazy."

No really. Do you think we're slaves or something? Are we expected to do each and every 'command' that you issue? Maybe if you start paying us i can start considering that, or maybe if i'm your unlucky boyfriend.

Somehow when i meet back my old friends, i feel like i've been hanging out with the wrong crowd or something. Actually, more like i've been hanging out with the wrong type of girls.

Okay i'm off track liao.

Oh yea Gerlind, i should have opened the doors for you the other time, just that i blur and tired that day. I'll try to remember next time haha.

Ramblings - random thoughts on life/love -

I just felt like typing these: i don't know where this would lead, and therefore i call them ramblings. They don't necessary mean anything, just some thoughts i have...

As a child, i wasn't like those people who wanted to grow up fast, turn 16 so they can drink and smoke, (no wait, actually i did want to turn 16 so i can go into the arcades legally. hah~), and maybe go into pubs.

I wasn't interested in any of those.

I think from young, i just wanted to stay young.

I don't know how stress it would be when i grow up, or when does one person actually grow up? Is it defined by your age? Like when you're 21?

Or is it defined by eventful moments in your life? Somehow when i typed the last line, the only thing i recall is my 2 friends who committed suicide. Damn. What did they die for? They died for someone who didn't deserve them, that's what.

I learnt that life, isn't at all like what they show in the movies. The nice guy will always finish last, the bad guys will usually live to a ripe old age, and heroes die first. The good people will end up dying first too. Life is unfair, at a point in our life one will realise that.

Now that's life.

Love however, is absolutely nothing like the movies or books you read about. The feelings that one experiences varies, but most people will have experienced heartbreak, jealousy & envy, and also hopefully the feeling of completeness, and warmth and joy.

Yet when one experiences heartbreak and jealousy more than anything else, does Love become uglier for them? Or sweeter? Its always two sided isn't it? What you experience can make you stronger, or it can also break you.

Its all those experiences in our life that defines us, what we are now. And what i am now ... isn't someone i would envy.

I still seek to find that 'perfect' someone, even though i've been hurt time and again.. (damn, i knew i shouldn't have broken those chain messages.. haha.~) I may have already met her, and lost her... (but i sure hope not), yet a part of me is still dreaming.

At least i can dream ... if i ever lose my dreams in love and hope... i think there's really nothing for me to live on anymore.

---

Somehow, everyone expects me to be married in the next few years... i mean, are you people taking it for granted? I'm seeing being a bacholar for the next few years a definate possibility here.. i must say i'm thankful i'm not a girl...

Otherwise there will be people saying 'when are you getting married ar?'

Sheesh. I think somehow those people are either out of topics, or they're damn insensitive. What has other people getting married got to do with you anyways? Esp relatives... omg. I haven't even got asked this question yet and i'm already scolding them... what's wrong with me? Lol~~

Anyways, marriage is about 2 people... okay, and maybe their parents and siblings... okay, add their friends in too, no wait, add their extended family... then again, add in everyone else.

Marriage is primarily about 2 people, but rare is the case that you'll won't be cut off from the outside world... you will have arguements and problems, and sometimes the only way you can solve them is through outside help... or friends for that matter.

okay.. i think that's enough random thinking for tonight. See you again people~

Loss of Memory?

I don't know if its NS or is it just life in general, but nowadays i can't seem to remember anything more than 2-3 days away...

Like what did i do on say, thursday. I actually have to think... i mean, if its not a normal day i don't have to think that long, but still, i need to think.

These few days i think i haven't been thinking that much. I just let everything come within me, and the next moment its gone.

Its like seeing a pretty girl go by. You look at her, remember her face for a wihle, think how sweet it is, and the next you forget how she looked like, maybe forgetting that i even saw her.

That's how life is going for me.

Could it be at some point of my life, i decided life was too much of a pain, and my mind automatically set me in auto mode? Sorta like Click..~ One should not underestimate the power of the mind~

Like now, i'm having difficulty remembering Gerlind's and Chiman's face now, even though i just met them on friday...

I got to start thinking more man. Living life by the moment is getting a bit... weird. Not remember what happened the past few days is just weird.

I need more food for the brain! Someone play chess with me~

Now i finally know why

Long post ahead...

Why "Nice Guys" are often such LOSERS

You hear it all the time: "He was such a NICE Guy, and she's such a Heartless Bitch for dumping him."

I get letters from self-professed Nice Guys, complaining that women must WANT to be treated like shit, because THEY, the "Nice Guy" have failed repeatedly in relationships. This is akin to the false logic that "Whales are mammals. Whales live in the sea. Therefore, all mammals live in the sea."

If you have one bad relationship after another, the only common denominator is YOU. Think about it.

What's wrong with Nice Guys? The biggest problem is that most Nice Guys (tm) are hideously insecure. They are so anxious to be liked and loved that they do things for other people to gain acceptance and attention, rather than for the simply pleasure of giving. You never know if a Nice Guy really likes you for who you are, or if he has glommed onto you out of desperation because you actually paid some kind of attention to him.

Nice Guys exude insecurity -- a big red target for the predators of the world. There are women out there who are "users" -- just looking for a sucker to take advantage of. Users home-in on "Nice Guys", stroke their egos, take them for a ride, add a notch to their belts, and move on. It's no wonder so many Nice Guys complain about women being horrible, when the so often the kind of woman that gets attracted to them is the lowest form of life...

Self-confident, caring, decent-hearted women find "Nice Guys" to be too clingy, self-abasing, and insecure.

Nice Guys go overboard. They bring roses to a "lets get together for coffee" date. They try to buy her affections with presents and fancy things. They think they know about romance, but their timing is all wrong, and they either come-on too strong, too hard and too fast, OR, they are so shy and unassertive, that they hang around pretending to be "friends", in the hope that somehow, someway, they will get the courage up to ask her out for a "date".

They are so desperate to please that they put aside their own needs, and place the object of their desire on a pedestal. Instead of appreciating her, they worship her. We are only human, and pedestals are narrow, confining places to be -- not to mention the fact that we tend to fall off of them.

They cling to her, and want to be "one" with her for fear that if she is out of sight, she may disappear or become attracted to someone else. A Nice Guy often has trouble with emotional intimacy, because he believes that if she learns about the REAL person inside, she will no longer love him.

Nice Guys are always asking HER to make the decisions. They think it's being equitable, but it puts an unfair burden of responsibility on her, and gives him the opportunity to blame her if the decision was an unwise one.

Nice Guys rarely speak up when something bothers them, and rarely state clearly what it is they want, need and expect. They fear that any kind of conflict might spell the end of the relationship. Instead of comprimising and negotiating, they repeatedly "give in". When she doesn't appreciate their sacrifice, they will complain that, "Everything I did, I did for her.", as if this somehow elevates them to the status of martyrs. A woman doesn't want a martyr. She wants an equal, caring, adult partner.

Nice Guys think that they will never meet anyone as special as she is. They use their adoration as a foundation for claiming that "no one will ever love her as much as I do." Instead of being a profound statement of their devotion, this is a subtle, but nasty insult. It is akin to saying to her: "You are a difficult person, and only *I* can ever truly love you, so be thankful I'm here."

The nice guy -needs- to believe that he is the best person for the object of his desires, because otherwise his insecurities will overrun him with jealousies and fear. The truth of the matter is that there are many people out there who can be a good match for her. We rarely stop loving people we truly care about. Even if we no longer continue the relationship, the feelings will continue... But love isn't mutually exclusive. We can (and do) love many people in our lives, and romantic love is really no different. Though he may love her immensely, there will likely be other people who have loved her just as much in her past, and will love her just as much in the future. The irony of it all is: "Who would want to go out with someone who was inherintly unlovable anyways?"

More than loving the woman in his life, a Nice Guy NEEDS her. "She is my Life, my only source of happiness..." YECH! What kind of a burden is that to place on her? That SHE has to be responsible for YOUR happiness? Get a grip!

Another mistake Nice Guys make is to go after "hard luck" cases. They deliberately pick women with neuroses, problems, and personality disorders, because Nice Guys are "helpers". A Nice Guy thinks that by "helping" this woman, it will make him a better, more lovable person. He thinks it will give him a sense of accomplishment, and that she will appreciate and love him more, for all his efforts and sacrifice. He is usually disappointed by the results.

This ultimately boils down to the fact that Nice Guys don't like themselves. Is it any wonder women don't like them? In order to truly love someone else, you must first love yourself. Too often Nice Guys mistake obsession for "love".

Get this Guys: INSECURITY ISN'T SEXY. IT'S A TURNOFF.

You don't have to be an ego-inflated, arrogant jerk. You just have to LIKE yourself. You have to know what you want out of life, and go after it. Only then will you be attractive to the kind of woman with whom a long-term relationship is possible.

Rambling...

I feel that:

Its a general principle for good people to get hurt.
The lucky ones are able to meet someone who cherishes them.
The others will keep getting hurt over and over.

And even if others don't hurt them,
They'll hurt themselves...
"What if i've done this instead of not doing anything?"
"Why am i so powerless?"

Then eventually some of them get so hurt,
they turn bitter and unkind.

Is it better like that,
or is it better to just leap down and die?

For when you jump,
your life ends...

But its just the beginning,
for others who care..

A lesson i learnt, and believe in.

This is a powerful question, that struck me as i watched I not Stupid 2 on VCD.

So often, are we so quick to put the blame on someone..
So the saying goes, it takes 100 good deeds before you get remembered as a good person,
but just 1 bad one to be a bad person.

People tend to look at the bad part of people, the rotten part.
What do you do when the apple in your fridge becomes rotten?

Do you throw it away? And have nothing left?
Or do you peel away the rotten part, so you can eat the rest of the apple?

On a sidenote,

I believe in the tidal wave of love.

A single loving act, can be passed on to another person.
For example, a cashier at macdonalds gave you $2 extra in change.
You can give it back, or just smile at your luck.

But what happens when you take it and walk away?
The cashier person takes the blame, and his mood is spolit, his whole day may be ruined.

Lets take this a little further. Lets assume he meets up with his gf, and he's silent throughout the entire date. His girlfriend may turn up to be in a bad mood too, and this may go on and on.

Give back the $2 i say. It may not be worth much to you, probably even nothing. But you could prevent a bad day from happening, or just make someone's day a bit better.

You get what i mean?

On a sidenote (random thoughts)

Huiyi smsed me today saying her day at work sucks, and asked me why do people have to work.

Meh. I guess its because Adam defied the words of God waaaaaaaay back then.

The world isn't fair, as i found out a long time ago.

-----------------------------------------

I had a thought, that people are fruits.
Some people are like banana's, they look yellow outside, but they're actually quite white inside.
Some people are like durians, they look horrible outside, but wah, when you eat it, shiok ar~
Some people are like apples, both the skin and the fruit tastes good.
Some people are like mangosteens, peel it carefully, or the fruit will not be worth it.
Some people are like oranges, the skin can be used for various things, just not for eating.

Well, they kinda reflect on how we look like, how we act towards people, compared to how we are inside.

That's all for random thoughts of the day.~

Ramblings

As i expected... i got a huge dressing down from dad regarding the laptop.
Grrr..
Just as i was enjoying my Tales of Legendia too... good graphics and music.

I realise... its very easy to assign work to someone and expect things to be done...
But people should really know when to draw the line when you're not Paying them, or showing grattitude to them in anyway.
Please know that i'm putting effort to do the things i've promised you, and i'm not receiving anything in return...

I feel like i'm a slave to my dad cause he raised me...
I really felt angry just now... i felt like i was going to break or well, break something.

But the time has passed.

And i got pretty detached from the world..

You know, maybe that's why i retract into myself and seem so emotionless to you all.
I don't wish to feel anger or hurt... that's why i try to dull them.
Maybe that's why the good feelings are dulled as well...
Feelings of like and love has often led me to trouble..

Sometimes i hate my indecisive self, and my low self esteem. I wonder what brought that in though..

Valentine's day

A busy work day with loads of people coming in.
A day when i saw a bit more pretty girls and handsome guys..

The history of Valentine's day..

Valentine's Day falls on February 14, and is the traditional day on which lovers in certain cultures let each other know about their love, commonly by sending Valentine's cards, which are often anonymous. The history of Valentine's day can be traced back to a Catholic Church feast day, in honor of Saint Valentine. The day's associations with romantic love arrived after the High Middle Ages, during which the concept of romantic love was formulated.

The day is now most closely associated with the mutual exchange of love notes in the form of "valentines." Modern Valentine symbols include the heart-shaped outline and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, the practice of hand writing notes has largely given way to the exchange of mass-produced greeting cards. The Greeting Card Association estimates that, world-wide, approximately one billion valentine cards are sent each year, making the day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year behind Christmas. The association also estimates that women purchase approximately 85 percent of all valentines.

If you're staying at home like me... don't feel depressed. Your loved one is out there somewhere. You know what they say, true love comes when you don't expect it.

Okay. I'll go game a bit before i go crazy.. haha.. laters.

Great. I take that back. I can't game. Mom needs to record show at 8:30 and sis watching show at 9pm. Since its now 8:13pm... i think i shall forget the idea of gaming... and find something else to do. Darn. Life is getting meaningless. All i can do at home now is to read and sms...

And my comp is getting slower and infected by numerous viruses... even after scanning i'm plagued by recurring viruses... just kill me..~

Anything can happen

If there's one thing i know from living all my 20+ years...

Its that anything can happen.

One minute you're happily chatting, expecting something big to happen,
And another, your heart is broken, everything gone down the drain.

But i know, that if we keep walking forward, we'll leave all these troubles behind..
And find something even better on our path forward..

Thoughts on Babies

I stayed over yesterday night. Supposed to be for an audit, but i'll tell you what happened..

After everyone left at 5+pm, me and Fidelis decided to jog a bit. We jogged for 2.4km, and decided to walk a couple of rounds to cool off. We chatted, and he told me the reason why he doesn't have a gf is because he's too lazy... or he can't be bothered.. he wants to be ready with enough money to support a wife before he gets a gf...

That's ... so ... practical. It reminds me of ..

At age 20+
"Lets have a child when we're ready"
"Yea, its too early for us to start a family"

At age 30+
"Maybe its time we have a child?"
"Hmm, no, i'm still developing my career... i'm almost there now."
"Okay."

From here it splits into 4 paths

(A)
"I'm afraid you're too old to have a baby..."

(B)
"Stop the baby's crying! Where's Maria?"
"How can i work with all these noise?"

(C)
"He's our pride and joy, lets treat him better..."
(The beginning of a spoiled boy)

(D)
Normal lar. Your normal childhood...

Hmm. As you can see, the possibly of having a normal childhood is only 25%... so start having babies before the age of 30..~ Its good for the mother, And the child..~ (Read it in an article somewhere)

Hmm yea. After the job, watched "Fu, Lu, Shou" last episode, shun bian eat Botak Jones, which's western by the way, and then took a bathe. After that, we played for an hour or 2 of games, then i went online for a while, then ... went to sleep. Was so tired.

I can't believe it. I squandered away my night just like that.~ No more Ops Frozen for me..~
